I read this yesterday on ASPCA http://blog.aspca.org/content/one-largest-puppy-brokers-shuts-its-doors. It’s such a shame that we could not even have any arabic article to get published in the local newspapers about the poisoning of stray dogs and cats.
Can’t we stop talking to neighbors who abuse animals and apply social pressure on them?
Can’t we stop dealing with pet shops that sell pets and pressure them to stop using puppies from puppy mills to make profits?
Can’t we talk to people EVERY day to stop going to the Friday Market and stop buying pets from there so that damn place closes for good?
Can’t we make a big deal out of companies that hire people who kill animals?
Do we really love animals more than that dog collar or food plate that we buy from that specific shop?
Do we genuinely love the stray dogs SO much that we would tirelessly keep talking about the poisoned dogs in the Free Trade Zone and push for a public opinion against the dog poisoning?
Do we need that fish aquarium from the Friday market SO badly that we need to pay them a visit and create traffic?
Do we have what it takes to go the extra mile to get some rules enforced for the sake of the helpless, abandoned animals?
No we don’t. At least not all of us do.
If we were in big numbers and we believed a lot of things would have changed by now. If it is the same then we are not doing enough.
People have power. Boycotting businesses forces them to stop doing what we dislike.
Tell us if you think this is the right way to solve the animal abuse issues in Kuwait.
